About Me

B.A.Creative Arts

After studying city and guilds, pattern cutting and tailoring I worked as a theatrical costumier.
I began my career at the Globe Theatre Bankside London, then I moved to Manchester to work at Whatt's Theatrical Costumiers.
Moving back south to Sussex and Glynbourne Opera House after which I returned to Manchester and the Contact Theatre Company.

I have worked for both I.T.V. and B.B.C. Television and a number of film companies. Productions include:Prince Charles and my costumes at Halifax Piece HallSummer Of Love

And I have made costumes for over 60 museums throughout the country working for both The National Trust and The Scotish National Trust. The museums include:Shibden Hall HalifaxYork Railway Museum

The Highlands Folk Museum

My latest commissions were include the Marks and Spencer archive in Leeds and the Chelsea Flower Show for which I made a replica Brontë bonnet for a garden called 'Brontë Falls'.

During my years as a costumier I have made a number of wedding dresses and with my knowledge of period costume I have been encouraged to extend that part of my business.
